The huge pumpkin, startled by the barking of the dog, jumped so high it went to the moon. Finding no one for company it longed to return to earth and used it’s energy source from the candle to propel it from the lunar surface and guide it home.
Landing on the trampoline and not breaking up on impact it flared relief scaring the children who ran to the house with the pumpkin in hot pursuit. Slamming the door that gave a groan as it creaked closed caused the children to take another peek. The pumpkin flared back and then reduced the flame. Panting and shaking with fright the children wondered what the pumpkin would do next.
Their stomachs growled and churned demanding food. They thought about pumpkin pie, but knew before desert they would have to eat the other stuff, like peas or lima beans, yuck. What a Halloween nightmare.
When it was time for desert, the pumpkin fearing it would become pie crashed through the window leaving shards of tasty sugary panes that were gobbled up by the pet rodents and goblins who resided in the basement during the day. At night they came out to play.
The Jack-O-lantern having been bumped by the pumpkin glowed furiously creating flames as high as a high-rise building. Spewing crackling obscenities. As it tumbled down the hill, and leaving a trail of spicy candy in it’s wake.
Excited and confused by all the commotion, the seemingly normal and docile dog, raced around hurdling everyone while trying to bite their necks mimicking the actions of the vampires. Horror struck, the adults raced for the phone hanging around the campfire waiting for someones attention. Unable to deal with the chaos a call for help was placed by the ghost of the future, that was postponed until midnight.
While waiting for help to arrive everyone tried to avoid all the activity and attempted to race for safety inside the doghouse, looking through the yellow pages for an exciting adventure park to amuse itself, and finding the prefect haunted house amusement it and everyone jumped with joy anticipating amusing Halloween entertainment. The dog realizing his home was packed with visitors joined in on the fun. Being squeezed like oranges for juice everyone promptly exited the doghouse and was amazed to find help had arrived. fire engine hoses spraying candy canes and easter bunnies, excited the children and another chaotic scene became live with all the auditory input..
Daunted by the wrong holiday flying about the adults abandoned the phone, and used a megaphone announcing free spicy candy was available. The phone drooled and longed for something sweet, maybe the baby goblin would give it a Halloween candy kiss. Cinnamon candy pieces landing far away from the phone who, feeling lonely and abandoned, rang relentlessly for more attention. The alarming ringing reverberated throughout the community. Neighbors arrived to witness the scenes played out before their unbelieving eyes. With mouths wide and chins almost to the knees whispers and pointing began to work its way from the front of the crowd to the back.
As the fire brigade second alarm call brigade arrived with their mouths drooling, longing for spicy candy, the pirates stole the caldron containing a golden bubbling substance that sloshed gold nuggets enticing the pirates who consume the golden treasure. They then turned their attention to the spicy candy but found none. A search and rescue for spicy candy was arranged, but the bonfire was too big and they got lost after attempting to spread out in search of candy never finding their way around the bonfire.
The dog howled after the spicy candy slid into it’s stomach creating a warmer than anticipated experience. Rolling over and wriggling the dog flipped the pumpkin which settled on its face. Running full tilt the first arrival firefighters chased the dog, the children followed the firefighters, and the dog flipped the pumpkin off it’s face then chased the cauldron as it rolled down the hill. Snatching the golden dog biscuits and caramel candy the dog panting with great vigor blew leaves into the bonfire creating a crackling sound.
Full enough to explode and out of breath the fire crew returned to the chaotic action and turned loose a tsunami of ice cubes onto the bonfire, which melted, extinguishing the scene completely.
Arriving in heaven, they realized this event was a nightmare and the events were a figment of imagination. Abruptly awake, shaking with fright, and horror the children ran into their parents room, jumped into their bed, then discovered they were at a friends house where many children had gathered for a Halloween celebration and pajama party. Popping up abruptly the parents gaped at the many children on top of them while the dog barked and jumped in delight. Halloween would never be the same… or would it?
