Beginning Free Motion Quilting - With the true beginner in mind, a lecture and hands-on workshop on free-motion quilting. This workshop will cover layering, basting, threads, batting and how to manipulate the quilt, plus the best designs for YOUR quilt. Heavy emphasis is on designs that DO NOT have to be marked.

Designing Machine Quilting - With very little practice using both pencil and paper and your machine you can design machine quilting "pictures" - flowers, leaves, snowflakes . . . almost anything for your latest quilt top.

Not Your Ordinary Two-Color Mystery Quilt - This is a fun class to select fabric for. Start with two colors that you like together, then select several more fabrics in the same color group.

Carpenter's Square - This very traditional Carpenter's Square give the appearance of strips of fabric weaving in and out in the blocks. With a closer look there are two different blocks that you will be making. Finished size of this quilt is 75" x 75"

Two Color Mystery Class - or if you really want Three Color Mystery - Pick your favorite fabric and a background fabric and you will be ready for this two color mystery class--but if you have a third fabric that you really like and you really want to use it, it's ok. Instructions will include directions for using the Omnigrid 98 ruler.

Creative Canvas Journal - Learn to transform an ordinary piece of canvas into a beautiful book. You will work with water-soluble oil pastels to paint heavy white canvas and will then fold the canvas to create a book with pockets to hold personalized tags. Learn how to bind in paper pages with a simple lacing technique. Rubber stamped images, vintage ephemera and dimensional embellishments will be used. You will be encouraged to develop a personal theme for your book, making it a journal, photo album or themed book, using the pages and tags to tell your story. You will learn to use Distress inks, make gesso transfers and manipulate Tyvek ™.

Etui (French Sewing Box) -This project is based on an antique French six-sided sewing box. When the lid is removed and the cord untied, the sides fold down to reveal a pincushion, pockets for sewing supplies, memorabilia and artwork. You will use fabric to cover the base material and lid and learn techniques for adding personal embellishments, stitchery and beading. We will have several samples on hand to illustrate different themes and styles.

Artful Fabric Book - Learn a basic binding method for assembling a fabric book that you will stitch and embellish around a personal theme and style. We will cover many embellishment techniques for the pages and cover, including image transfers to fabric, beading, unusual and dimensional appliqués and ways to add words to fabric, as well as different methods of finishing the edges and adding unique closures.  We will have several books on hand for inspiration.

"Snippets" Trash to Treasure Trove - You'll create unique, one of a kind fabrics using bits and pieces of leftover or recycled fabrics, trims and fibers in this class. Learn how to "mix it up" to create interest and texture while producing a useable, sturdy surface suitable to a myriad of future projects. Experiment with planned randomness, exotic combinations, and sophisticated to homespun color ways. Playful experimentation is encouraged and applauded!  Warning: Making "Snippets" is delightfully addictive! You may never throw away another scrap of fabric again. You will leave with a completed piece of yardage and ideas for using your new fabric in various projects.

Bead Enchantment Bracelet - Encircle your wrist with velvet soft leather, luminous painted Tyvek ™ and glistening beads when this enchanted project is completed. Learn leather and bead stitching techniques as you stitch one gorgeous layer on top of the other. You will also learn how to use 
Tyvek ™ manipulation through painting and heating to add a truly unique and beautiful background to your beading.

Affirmations Shrink Art Tag Necklace- Mixing beautiful beads, fabulous fibers and shrink plastic tags creates a wonderful one-of-a- kind necklace. Using rubber stamps and interference inks with the shrink plastic allows you to produce unique charms to coordinate with your beads and fibers. You will learn how to make these special tags and many jewelry making techniques and will leave with a gorgeous completed necklace.

Color Adventure: Fabric Painting Made Easy  - This class is suitable for all levels and offers an introduction to the use of non-toxic permanent textile paints. The first part of the workshop will focus on the various effects achieved when applying and mixing watercolor paints. The second half of the workshop you will experiment with manipulating fabric and painting for special effects.   (Lab fee $15)

Quilted Garment Construction - In this class you will create a wearable art vest that you can really wear! Linda will show her approach to design and build as you go to create a one of a kind wearable art vest. From fitting to flat finished seams and professionally finished edges.
